Payment Policies
At Coastal Women’s Healthcare, we’re committed to providing transparent and accessible care. Our payment policies are designed to help you understand your financial responsibilities and plan ahead for your appointment.
Below, you’ll find important information about billing for obstetric care, in-office procedures, IUI treatments, self-pay discounts, and general patient financial responsibilities. If you have any questions, our Billing Team is always here to assist you.
What to Expect: OB Billing and Payment
During your pregnancy, routine prenatal visits and your delivery are billed as a single “global charge” to your insurance after delivery. Non-routine services like ultrasounds and lab tests are billed separately when performed.
At your first OB appointment, you’ll meet with a Billing Representative to set up a payment plan for ultrasounds, lab tests, and any balances after delivery. ?Payment plan options include:
- $1,000 due at 12–14 weeks,
- or $500 at 12–14 weeks and 20 weeks,
- or $250 at 12–14, 20, 24, and 28 weeks.
If your balance is over $1,000, a Billing Representative will work with you at your 28-week visit to arrange a plan to pay in full by delivery.
Payment Policy for In-Office Procedures
Once your in-office procedure is scheduled, our Billing Team will contact your insurance provider to obtain benefit details. You’ll receive a letter outlining your deductible, co-insurance, co-payment, and an estimate of your total out-of-pocket cost.
A Billing Representative will explain how much of your deductible has been met and your estimated financial responsibility. Pre-payment is required before your procedure. To pay, set up a payment plan, or make same-day arrangements, please contact our Billing Team.
How Payment Works for IUI Treatments
Infertility treatment isn’t always covered by insurance, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your benefits. Some plans may require precertification or prior notification—if that’s the case, please let our office know before your appointment.
Each treatment cycle must be paid for before beginning the next one. If you become pregnant, we kindly ask that any remaining balance be paid in full before your first obstetrical visit.
Financial Responsibility
Patients are kindly reminded that they are responsible for any medical services not covered by their insurance plan. This includes understanding your specific insurance benefits, such as deductibles, referrals, co-pays, co-insurance, and out-of-network charges. It’s important to verify whether your provider is considered in-network, as out-of-network visits may lead to denied claims or higher out-of-pocket costs.
Any uncovered services will be your responsibility, and we ask that payment be made promptly. If payment is not received, accounts may be referred to a collection agency, which will incur an additional 35% collection fee. In some cases, continued non-payment may result in dismissal from the practice.
We’re here to help with any questions about your coverage or billing—please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.
Paying Out of Pocket? Here’s What to Know
When your appointment is scheduled, our Billing Team will provide an estimate based on the visit you are scheduled for. Self-pay patients receive a 40% discount, which is applied to this estimate. If additional services are needed, they will be billed separately after your visit with the same discount.
Charges are based on the time and complexity of your care. While we aim to give accurate estimates, final costs may vary. Payment is due in full at the time of your appointment.
