Our providers hold surgical privileges at Maine Medical Center, the Scarborough Surgery Center, and InterMed’s Ambulatory Surgery Center.

If surgery is recommended, our surgical scheduler will work closely with you to coordinate a date and location best suited to your procedure. Our team is dedicated to supporting you every step of the way—from pre-operative preparation through post-operative recovery—and we’re always here to help with anything in between.

Common Surgical Procedures

Hysterectomy

Is the surgical removal of the uterus and/or cervix and may also include the fallopian tubes or ovaries. Our providers perform this procedure robotically, laparoscopically with or through an abdominal incision.

Diagnostic laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows providers to view the pelvic organs through small incisions. It is often used for diagnostic purposes to identify or rule out various medical conditions.

Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive medical procedure that allows a healthcare provider to examine the inside of the uterus by way of a hysteroscope.

Sterilization

Surgical procedure that either removes or blocks the fallopian tubes.
